Election Reminder
Election season is upon us, so I wanted to share a quick reminder to make sure that you are registered to vote ahead of the Massachusetts State Primary Election in September and the State Election in November.
The State Primary will be held on September 3, 2024. The offices on the ballot include:
U.S. Senator
U.S. Representative
Governor's Council
State Senator
State Representative
Register of Deeds
Clerk of Courts
County Commissioner (certain counties only)
The voter registration deadline is August 24, 2024. Vote by mail applications were just sent out to all residents. All you have to do if you would like to request a vote by mail ballot, is mail back the postcard by August 26th 2024 for the primary. If you did not receive an application, or misplaced it, you can also request a vote by mail ballot by clicking here.
The State Election will be held on November 5, 2024. The offices on the ballot include the same offices as the State Primary, with the addition of the President and Vice President. The voter registration deadline for the November Election is October 26th 2024. Vote by mail applications must be requested by October 29, 2024.
There are several options for returning your ballot. You may return your ballot by:
Mail it back using the envelope provided (you can track it here!)
Hand delivering your ballot to your local elections office (Boston City Hall, Rm. 241)
Drop your ballot off at an early voting location during early voting hours
Or use a ballot drop box - for District 8, the closest locations are the Central Library in Copley Square and City Hall Plaza (main entrance on the 3rd floor). For more locations in Boston, click here.
Please note, ballots cannot be dropped off at a polling place on Election Day.
I hope you will join me by voting on September 3rd, 2024 and November 5th, 2024. Voting is one of the most important rights of American citizens and one of the best ways to make your voice heard.
